Duane Woods
Senior Vice President / Western Group at Waste Management
Woods joined the Fiesta Bowl Board of Directors in 2005 and has since been an integral part of the non-profit Fiesta Bowl. He served as the Board secretary in the 2008-2009 season before assuming the role of chair-elect last year.
As Chairman of the Board he will oversee the community-based organization and its Festival of College Football, including the 40th Annual Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, 22nd Annual Insight Bowl, the 2011 Tostitos BCS National Championship Game and more than 40 statewide events.
Prior to his current role at Waste Management, Woods served as vice president and counsel, overseeing the company’s legal and regulatory affairs in the West. He also spent time in local and state government in Seattle and the state of Washington. In addition to his time spent volunteering with the Fiesta Bowl, Woods also serves on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and his law degree from Seattle University.
He and his wife, Teri, have three children, Brynya, John and Meryl, and reside in Paradise Valley.
