History

When the Invitational began in 1973 it was known as the Fiesta Bowl Ball - a coronation gala for the Fiesta Bowl Queen & Court.  In 1981 the Queen’s Coronation was separated from the Ball and the event took on a life of its own, eventually becoming an annual New Year’s Eve celebration in 1993.

Today, the Invitational is regarded as one of Arizona’s most prestigious holiday affairs, where Fiesta Bowl dignitaries, celebrities and Valley business leaders enjoy live entertainment, dancing and a special silent auction benefiting Fiesta Bowl charities.  The event is held annually at the breath-taking Phoenician Resort the evening before the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
