Allison Schannep Crowned 2013-14 Fiesta Bowl Queen

Scottsdale, Ariz. – The Fiesta Bowl crowned Allison Schannep from the University of Arizona the 2013-14 Fiesta Bowl Queen today at a private event held at the Arizona Biltmore Grand Ballroom. 
 
Allison, 20, is a senior at the University of Arizona Honors College majoring in political science, philosophy, economics and law. She is a member of Chi Omega Sorority, Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society, Golden Key International Honor Society and Navigators, a faith-based club on campus.  
 
After she obtains her undergraduate degree in May, Allison will spend her fourth year at the University earning her masters in Philosophy.  In the future, she plans to remain in Arizona and attend law school.
 
Schannep’s first duty as Queen will be to appear at the Wells Fargo Fiesta Bowl Million Dollar Hole-in-One Finals taking place at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club November 10 at 2 p.m. Thousands of golfers of all skill levels aim for a hole-in-one on a 125-yard hole. The top three finishers each day, in addition to anyone who scores a hole-in-one, advance to the finals on November 10th for a shot at the $1 million hole or two $50,000 holes. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Fiesta Bowl Charities.

A scholarship opportunity of a lifetime, the Queen & Court serve as spokespersons for the Fiesta Bowl representing the Board of Directors, volunteers, staff and sponsors to the local community. Court members annually attend beloved Valley events such as the Tostitos® Fiesta Bowl, the Fort McDowell Fiesta Bowl Parade presented by Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation and various other Fiesta Bowl events.
 
2013 Court Biographies: 
 
Rebecca Durazo, 21, is a senior at the University of Arizona majoring in accounting.  She is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society and Eller Hispanic Honorary.  Rebecca is also captain of the Pride of Arizona Twirling Team and currently serves as interim president of Optimi Student Foundaton Honorary.  She plans to be an active alumna and work for an accounting firm in Arizona following graduation.   
 
Hannah Keogh, 21, is a Phoenix native and senior at the University of Arizona majoring in business marketing and minoring in Spanish.  She is a member of the Bobcats Senior Honorary, Pi Beta Phi Sorority and Order of Omega Greek Leadership Honor Society.  Hannah currently serves as vice president of Rho Lambda National Sorority Leadership Recognition Society and Director of Greek Students Alumni Relations Council. She plans to earn her Master’s in business administration after completing her undergraduate studies.  
 
Lisette Ruiz-Ibarra, 21, is a senior at the University of Arizona majoring in psychology with plans to attend dental school.  She is a member of Chi Omega Sorority, Honors College Xtreme Discovery Team and DDS Pre Dental Society.  Lisette serves as president of the UA Flying Samaritans Dental Unit and vice president of the Global Dental Brigades where she traveled to Honduras to provide free dental care to more than 100 poverty-stricken residents.
