Tempe, Arizona –New Year’s Eve is right around the corner and the Fiesta Bowl Block Party presented by Safeway is the biggest and best place in Arizona to ring in the new year.

Over a million attendees since its inception in 1984 have made the Fiesta Bowl Block Party an exciting  and electric New Year’s Eve destination. Hosted on December 31from 5:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. on Mill Avenue in the ultra-vibrant district of downtown Tempe, the Block Party features the best in both local and national entertainment.

This year, the Block Party has three headliners —Sawyer Brown, the Gin Blossoms, and Gabriel & Dresden — to rock the night away. Sawyer Brown and the Gin Blossoms perform on the main stage at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. respectively, and Gabriel and Dresden deejay on the Electronic Music Stage at 10:30 p.m.

The Block Party also features 30 local bands playing on seven different stages, a coveted spot for local bands to boost their resume and play on a large stage in front of thousands of people.

Accompanied by confetti and fireworks, the most famous and revered Block Party tradition, the “Chip Drop”, returns after a 12-year hiatus to welcome the new year at midnight!
