Scottsdale, Ariz.- The Phoenix Desert Vista Thunder were named the Fiesta Bowl Arizona High School Team of the week after beating last week's winner, Scottsdale Saguaro, 31-28 to move to 6-0 on the season.
Kicker Scotty Goldfein hit a 30-yard field goal as time expired to win the game for the Thunder. Desert Vista overcame a 22 point half-time deficit to secure the victory.
Desert Vista narrowly edged out Hamilton for the honors, which beat Chandler 28-21 on FS Arizona to improve to 6-0.
Others receiving votes included Mesa Red Mountain, Peoria Centennial, Tempe, Catalina Foothills, Scottsdale Saguaro, Glendale Mountain Ridge, Tucson Salpointe Catholic and San Tan Valley Poston Butte.
The Fiesta Bowl Arizona High School Team of the Week is an effort to promote high school football by recognizing deserving teams statewide. Each week, the winning team will be featured on FOX Sports Arizona's AIA High School Game of the Week telecast and on its website -
The Fiesta Bowl Arizona High School Team of the Week is selected by a panel of seven media members and a longtime high school coach. 
The Fiesta Bowl is a non-profit organization founded by Arizona community leaders in 1971. Through the creation of the Festival of College Football, which is inclusive of more than 40 statewide events, the annual Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, the organization continues to promote volunteerism, athletic achievement and higher education. The Fiesta Bowl has hosted seven games that have decided the college football national championship, including four Bowl Championship Series title games. This season, the Fiesta Bowl and its 2,900 volunteers will host the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz. and the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
